Munich sneaker retailer BSTN is adding another brand to its collaborations resume with a first-time project alongside Salomon, soon set to release its own take on the rising French brand’s most popular model in the XT-6. And if you’re a Sneaker News regular, the nickname and associated colorway should be more than familiar.
BSTN’s debut Salomon collaboration is inspired by “the quiet hour before the day begins,” carrying an official nickname of “5 AM.” That same name, hardly a common one, also belongs to a Nike Kobe 10 from 2015, soon set to return in Protro form later this year. The colorways are similar too, the Kobe 10 drawing from a video of Kobe jumping into a pool during his Achilles injury recovery and the Salomon favoring soft blue tones inspired by twilight itself. Coincidence? We’ll leave that alone for now…
The special touches are kept fairly understated, anchored by light blue overlays over a dark blue mesh foundation. The insoles speak to the night to day transition with a cool blue to warm orange gradient, while text reading “Common Ground” runs parallel with the tongue ribbon. White zig-zag contrast stitching on the tongue does well to separate these from your average general release pair.
The BSTN x Salomon XT-6 “5 AM” drops October 10th, 2026 exclusively through BSTN. Check out on-white images below if you’re considering scooping a pair.
