Larry June Is the Only Rapper We’d Trust To Design a $4,550 Chair

One thing about Larry June? He knows something good when he sees it. Be it a thumping “lifestyle rap” beat, a reliable running sneaker, or a timeless piece of home decor, the Bay Area rapper has taste. After all, he showed us what his house looked like in his “Imported Couches” video, with a custom Paulin, Paulin, Paulin Dune Sofa the centerfold of his abode.   

Legend (Instagram) has it that June, who also has a song entitled “Expensive Couches,” saw the Dune Sofa in Benjamin Paulin’s Paris studio and fell in love instantly. Good taste begets good taste, so who better than the rapper with a fine-tuned palette to revamp an archival Paulin classic as part of Paulin’s new “DroPPP” collaborative series?

June's signature, limited-edition take on Paulin's 1967 Tongue Chair wears the rapper's signature bright orange hue but is otherwise unchanged. Why fix what ain't broken? All June did was make a tasteful chair more tasteful (or at least more fun).

Symbolic of June's commitment to, well, himself, the vibrant orange previously came to define his Midnight Organic garments and adidas sneaker collaborations, even serving as the namesake behind a bunch of his songs, EPs, and albums.

But in true June fashion — remember this is the man whose daily driver is a McLaren — his biggest-ever foray with this inimitable hue comes in the form of €4,000 tongue-shaped chair.
