First Look At The Nike GT Force

Nike Basketball is reaching into its past to help shape its future, and a major piece of that puzzle has just been revealed. A first look at the upcoming Nike G.T. Force has officially surfaced, with Seattle Storm forward Awa Fam wearing the unreleased model on court last night. Top college prospect and Nike NIL athlete Tyran Stokes also recently shared images of the sneaker on Instagram, giving us our best look yet at the second piece of Nike Basketball’s emerging G.T. lineup.

The G.T. Force immediately separates itself with a true high-top construction, an increasingly rare sight in modern basketball footwear. The upper appears heavily structured, including what looks to be a molded toe cap, while an aggressive zig-zag formation runs along the midsole to give the shoe a distinctly more substantial appearance.

For decades, Force, Flight, and Uptempo helped Nike organize basketball footwear around different styles of play. Force catered to stronger, more physical players; Flight became synonymous with explosive athletes and high-flyers; while Uptempo effectively occupied the space between the two.

Nike now appears ready to revive that philosophy under its modern G.T. (Greater Than) performance banner, and along with the G.T. Flight worn by AJ Dybantsa earlier this summer, we now have just the GT Uptempo to look forward to.
