BREAKING: MoMA x Air Jordan 1 Releasing Spring 2027

One of Nike’s most interesting cultural partnerships is crossing over into Jordan Brand. Sneaker News can exclusively confirm that The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and Jordan Brand will release an Air Jordan 1 High OG collaboration in Spring 2027, marking the latest chapter in a relationship between Nike and the famed New York City institution that will celebrate its tenth anniversary next year.

While images of the shoes have yet to surface, Sneaker News can confirm three colorways are currently expected: Black/Grey, Black/Orange, and Black/Purple. Each pair will carry a retail price of $205.

Beginning Spring 2027, Jordan Brand is expected to significantly reduce the number of Air Jordan 1 High releases, moving away from the heavy volume that defined the silhouette for much of the previous decade. That could position the three MoMA editions among a relatively small group of Air Jordan 1 High releases arriving during the year.

For MoMA, the collaboration represents another major footwear moment in a relationship with Nike that dates back nearly a decade. Most famously, the MoMA Design Store was connected to the release of Virgil Abloh’s black Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 in 2018, one of the most coveted shoes from the late designer’s partnership with the Swoosh. The relationship has continued in more unexpected forms since, including collaborative Nike socks in 2024.

More recently, the MoMA Design Store served as the exclusive launch partner for the Nike Air Max 95 OG “Reverse Gradient” in 2025. That release drew from an early design sketch by Air Max 95 creator Sergio Lozano, making the museum an especially appropriate home for a shoe centered around footwear design history.

Exactly how MoMA will interpret the Air Jordan 1 remains unknown, and no images have surfaced at the time of this writing. But with three colorways planned for Spring 2027, the collaboration is shaping up to be one of the centerpiece Air Jordan 1 projects of a year in which Jordan Brand appears prepared to make the iconic silhouette far less commonplace.
